This new sculpture belongs to an ongoing series of studies in which Mariadela employs artificial intelligence as a generative sketching tool, later reinterpreting those digital proposals through handcraft and material rigor. Using noble fiber primarily cotton and silk, the work translates algorithmic imagination into tactile form.Executed on a high-warp loom, the piece moves from the flatness of the loom-woven surface into unexpected three-dimensionality. Through deliberate manipulation of silhouette and volume, the artist balances into contrasts of strength and fragility, layering and juxtaposing textures to produce an unfamiliar yet architectural presence.Drawing on sculptural strategies from floral design, internal volumes are constructed as soft armatures that define and grow the outer form. The result is a lightweight, delicate, and sublime sculpture that occupy a liminal space between textile practice, botanical construction, and contemporary sculpture.

My work as an artist is a constant research of combinations and contrast whether color, materials, shapes. 2020 is been a challenging year, and for me has brought the opportunity to explore the 3D in tapestry weaving, so I started to develop a series of sculptures while exploring shapes.
This color and form studies show a series of 4 sculptures, where I re transform a woven flat tapestry into a 3D object and add a textured composition with merged layers of crochet, a juxtaposition of materials in a poetic way.
Hand crafted in crochet with wool and modeled with silk thread. It could be exhibited and placed, hanged by ceiling or wall , or even showed on a surface, as a shelf or a table. Each piece is very rich in texture, with slightly showing color background.
The dimension are apx. 25 x 40 cm.
